Travel Diaries
Series no.one
Traveling can be very expensive, time consuming and exhausting. It is an absolute privileged to go over seas and travel the world to see new and exciting things. However we don’t always have the expenses or even the time to plan these types of trips.
In this series we shall be exploring our own backyard! Why not travel around Victoria and see what our own little state has to offer. These trips only take a day or two to plan and can be very spontaneous.
In the first series we will go to visit the 12 Apostles along the Great Ocean Road.
It is a lovely 2 hour and 50 minute road trip from Melbourne CBD. On the road there are many stops you can take visiting old country towns and see some great ocean views. On our way to the 12 Apostles we had found a chocolatier called ‘Gorge Chocolates’. If you come across this little beauty, be sure to grab a hot chocolate as they are delicious!
The destination itself is spectacular and definitely a little bit of a hike. Take your time to enjoy the ocean breeze, warm sun and hustling sounds of the waves. The only downside are the flies so be prepared to swat them away!
Due to erosion not all 12 of the apostles are standing. I had only counted 9 the last time I was there so capturing photos become a more momentous occasion as the earth is ever changing and thus next time you go back the trail will no longer look the same. So it definitely worth the road trip down!
